Temporary Lane Closure Announced for Long Bay
Road
Public Works Commissioner Darryl A. Smalls advises the motoring public of an upcoming, temporary lane closure on St. Thomas. Starting Friday, February 19, a road closure will be in effect for the west bound left lane on Long Bay Road Route 30 from Mandela Circle to the intersection of Veterans Drive / deBeltjen Road. This effort is the fourth ARRA-funded roadwork project in the territory.
Smalls says the lane closure will be clearly designated by barricades and lane channelizing devices throughout the life of the Long Bay area project. The temporary traffic pattern change will only affect the southernmost west bound lane of Long Bay Road. The east bound lane will remain the same and the northernmost west bound lane will remain open to westbound traffic.
Phase One of the road excavation and road widening project will enhance the bus turnoff, Yacht Haven Grande entrance, and Long Bay road areas.
Phase Two of the project includes roadway from Yacht Haven Grande to the Pan Yard, and is expected to take six (6) weeks to complete. Motorists are advised to
seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
