Continued Potable Water Shortage Affecting Operations of Government Agencies

The continued potable water shortage affecting the St. Thomas community will cause four government agencies to abbreviate working hours today. The departments of Property and Procurement; Licensing and Consumer Affairs; Housing, Parks and Recreation and the VI Taxicab Commission will cease operations at 1 p.m. today due the unavailability of water.

“The agencies used surplus water capacity to sustain operations during the first half of the day today, however, with no running water at facilities, it has become increasingly difficult to sustain operations, according to Government House Director of Communications, Jean P. Greaux, Jr.

The four agencies are housed at Number One, Subbase, St. Thomas.
