Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr. has nominated two esteemed real estate brokers to the Virgin Islands Real Estate Commission.
Stephanie Hodge, a resident of St. Croix, has been nominated to replace Jan Hanley on the commission; Christie O’Neil of St. John is nominated to fill a vacant position.
The governor announced the nominees in a letter to Senate President Ronald Russell in which he requested prompt confirmation.
O’Neil is co-owner of Holiday Homes of St. John Inc. She has 24 years of experience as a licensed real estate sales agent or broker in the territory. She has served two terms as president of the St. John Board of Realtors and was president of the Virgin Islands Territorial Association of Realtors for 2007 and 2008. O’Neil currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Realtors.
Hodge has owned Blue Sky Real Estate since August of 2008. Before that, she was a broker at Caryn Hodge. She is currently President of the Board of Directors of Cruzan Heritage and Nature Tourism and acting president of the La Grange Landowners’ Association.
Last week, de Jongh nominated two new members to the Virgin Islands Real Estate Appraisers Board and re-nominated three of the board’s current members to serve another term.
