Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr. and Tourism Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty are in Florida today attending meetings with airline industry leaders to discuss the potential for continued growth of jet service and airlift to the territory. The meetings come on the heels of the announcement by Jet Blue on Thursday that the airline would begin service to both island districts in December.
De Jongh is expected back in the territory this weekend and in his absence, Lt. Governor Gregory Francis is serving as Acting Governor.
