Governor John P. de Jongh has appointed four nursing professionals to the board that licenses nurses in the territory.
Cynthia Stapleton, a Certified Nurse Midwife; Cereese Lewis-Smith, a Registered Nurse; Rita Durant-Brin, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Lydia Ells, a Licensed Practical Nurse, all began three year terms on the Virgin Islands Board of Nurse Licensure in February.
De Jongh informed each woman of the appointment in a Feb. 17 letter praising their expertise, and saying their “willingness to serve will enhance the Board's ability to meet its busy agenda and serve the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands.”
