Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr. departed the territory for New York on Friday afternoon. Tonight, he will meet with the territory’s bond counsel and on Saturday, the governor will participate in the annual V.I. Freshwater Association 20th Anniversary and Transfer Day Benefit event in the Bronx.
The theme of this year’s event is “celebrate the past while looking forward to a brighter and greater future.” The association will honor Virgin Islander and longtime president of the organization, Helen George-Newton.
De Jongh returns to the territory on Sunday.
