DHPR Issues Notice of Limited Use of the Emile Griffith Ballpark Due to Damages Sustained from Hurricane Earl

Commissioner St. Claire N. Williams of the Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation advises the general public that due to damages incurred by Hurricane Earl, there is limited use of the Emile Griffith Ballpark until further notice. Commissioner Williams explained that one of the major light poles to which light fixtures are connected was blown down by the storm and now limits the use of the ball field to daytime use only. “Further assessment is being made of the damage and every effort will be made to expedite the repairs and regain normal use of the Emile Griffith Ballpark”, Commissioner Williams concluded.
