Governor Nominates Nine to V.I. Historic Preservation Commission,
Seven are Re-Nominations

Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr. has re-nominated four members for a second term on the Virgin Islands Historic Preservation Commission in the St. Thomas-St. John district. They include: Felipe Ayala, Jr., Ronald Lockhart, Robert G. Moron and Diane Walker. In the St. Croix district, de Jongh re-nominated Rupert N. Pelle, Gerville Larsen and Norma D. Glenn also to second terms on the commission.

The governor also nominated for a term on the commission in the St. Croix district, Rebecca Merwin to replace Elma M. Christian and David Hayes to replace Carmen Gonzalez. The members being replaced terms have expired. 

“These nominees are well qualified, by education and experience, to hold the positions for which they are being nominated to and are outstanding citizens of our community,” de Jongh wrote in a letter to Senate President Louis Patrick Hill in which the governor sought the advice and consent of the Senate on the nominees. 

The nominations are subject to confirmation by the 28th Legislature.
