| WHEREAS, there is
a need to focus attention on health issues
facing men and young men, and the availability
of various medical services; and WHEREAS,
Friday, June 24, 2011 has been selected as the
date to host events focusing on men and young
men health issues in the Virgin Islands
community; and
WHEREAS, with
knowledge and understanding, men and young men
can take greater responsibility for their health
which will allow them to live fuller lives; and
WHEREAS, it is
through the efforts of local and community organizations
working with health partners and volunteers,
that together we can improve awareness of key
men and young men and health issues
NOW, THEREFORE, I, John P.
de Jonqh, Jr., Governor of the
United States Virgin Is1ands, by virtue of the authority vested
in me by the Revised Organic Act of 1954, as amended, do hereby
proclaim June 24th, as "Men and Young Men
Health Mentorship Day." I
urge all residents and community organizations
to work together to promote and improve the
health of our men and young men, and to increase
awareness and understanding of men and young men
health issues. Further I urge everyone to join
in this observance and to participate in the
activities planned for this day.

of the United States to be affixed at Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, Virgin
