Gubernatorial Proclamation - Territorial Week of Prayer

Gov. John P. de Jongh, Jr. has proclaimed this week as “Territorial Week of Prayer” in the Virgin Islands, a time to recognize our dependence on the Almighty and give thanks for the many blessings bestowed upon us.

Prayer unites people, facilitates healing and allows us to overcome the trials and tribulations of daily life. “It is especially important that we give thanks and show our appreciation for the Almighty’s continued guidance for He is our rock and our salvation,” the proclamation reads.

In the belief that our territory’s future lies in God’s hands, de Jongh called upon Virgin Islanders of all faiths and traditions to join him in observing Territorial Week of Prayer, seeking the Almighty’s deliverance from the pestilence of violence, and asking for forgiveness, peace and prosperity for all.
