DEJONGH NOMINATES JUDITH MC DONALD RICHARDSON TO SERVE ON ST. THOMAS – ST. JOHN DISTRICT HOSPITAL GOVERNING BOARD Governor John P. deJongh, Jr. has nominated Judith Mc Donald Richardson to serve a three-year term on the Virgin Islands Hospital and Health Facilities Corporation, St. Thomas - St. John District Governing Board. Richardson will replace Dilsa Capdeville who was nominated on August 1st but has since asked that her name be withdrawn from consideration for personal reasons. In correspondence to Senate President Usie Richards, deJongh sought the advice and consent of the Legislature on the nomination. “I look forward to the expertise Mrs. Richardson will bring to the St. Thomas - St. John District Hospital Board. I am grateful for her accepting this challenge at this time, a challenge that will demand her full attention, expertise and much of her valuable time.” Mrs. Richardson, who holds as Master’s Degree from Bank Street College of Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from Howard University, is Project Director for KIDS COUNT. For the past eight years, she has assisted the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands in implementing the annual KIDS COUNT project. Richardson has also served as a part-time instructor at the University of the Virgin Islands where she instructed undergraduate students in inclusive early childhood education. For thirty years, Richardson served in various capacities at the Department of Human Services and its predecessor agency, Department of Social Welfare. Richardson holds professional affiliations on organizations including: the KIDS COUNT Steering Committee, Voices for Virgin Islands Children, Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. |
