GOVERNOR EXTENDS MOTHER’S DAY GREETINGS

Governor John P. deJongh, Jr. extends Mother’s Day greetings to all mothers of the Territory.

"Heartfelt greetings and best wishes are extended to all ladies of the Virgin Islands who have given of their time and effort towards the raising of the next generation of children," deJongh said, pointing out that each child is a treasured gift that requires an entire family, indeed an entire village, to nurture children into citizens of sound, moral character.

"On Mother’s Day, take a moment to show your love and appreciation by acknowledging and thanking those who have contributed in some cases, singlehandedly, to your nurturing and upbringing," deJongh said. We also extends prayers and best wishes on Mother’s Day to those mothers serving overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries which are today experiencing conflicts and unrest. "Our prayer is for their safe return to their children."

"Happy Mother’s Day. May God bless all mothers, their family and friends with good health, peace and prosperity today and always," deJongh concluded.
