GOVERNOR DEJONGH PROCLAIMS YOUTH ART MONTH IN THE UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS Gov. John P. deJongh, Jr. has proclaimed the month of March as “Youth Art Month” in the United States Virgin Islands. The arts enhance the lives of all. Art education provides educational benefits for our students and helps to develop creative problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. It also teaches sensitivity to beauty, order, and other expressive and beneficial human qualities. Art education interrelates student learning in art production, art history, art criticism and aesthetics. It is essential that every effort be made to appreciate and develop art education. |
