SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK PROCLAIMED IN THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS Governor John P. deJongh Jr. proclaimed the week of March 2-8, 2008, as "School Breakfast Week" in the United States Virgin Islands. Since its establishment in 1975, the School Breakfast Program has served our nation and territory admirably, as it is dedicated to the health and well-being of our nation’s and territory’s children. Throughout the years, many other excellent child nutrition programs have joined the School Breakfast Program in expressing the continued need for nutrition education and awareness of the value of school nutrition programs. DeJongh encourages all residents to become aware and concerned about their children’s and their own nutritional habits, in hope of achieving a more healthful citizenry for today and the future. |
