GOVERNOR MEETS WITH EPA IN NEW YORK

Governor John P. deJongh Jr. departed the territory Monday afternoon for New York to attend meetings with officials of the Environmental Protection Agency. The meetings on Tuesday will focus on the Administration’s plan to address the structure of the Waste Management Authority as detailed in the 2008 State of the Territory Address.

In deJongh’s absence and in accordance with provisions of the Revised Organic Act of 1954, as amended, Lt. Gov. Gregory Francis will serve as Acting Governor. DeJongh returns to the territory at mid-week.
