Governor to deliver State of Territory Address Tuesday night; Speech to focus on first year in office and look ahead to second-year initiatives and objectives Gov. John P. deJongh, Jr. will deliver his second State of the Territory Address to the people of the Virgin Islands on Tuesday, January 22. The speech, which will be delivered before a formal session of the 27th Legislature, will begin at 7 p.m. In his address, deJongh will provide an accounting of his first year in office as Chief Executive and will unveil a number of second-year initiatives which affect the daily lives of all Virgin Islanders, according to Government House Communications Director Jean P. Greaux, Jr. deJongh’s address, estimated at lasting a little over one hour, will focus on issues of education reform, crime, the cost of energy and a report on the Administration’s continuing reform and overhaul of the Virgin Islands Government. The State of the Territory address will be televised live on WTJX-TV Channel 12; TV-2; Government Access Channel: Innovative Cable TV Channel 10. In addition, the speech will be broadcast live on radio stations including: WSTA Radio (1340 AM), WVWI Radio One (1000 AM); WIUJ (102.9 FM); WRRA Radio (1620 AM) and WSTX (970 AM). Additionally, the State of the Territory Address will be available on line at www.wiuj.com and a live webcast of the speech will be available at the Governor’s website: www.governordejongh.com. |
