Department of Agriculture announces St. Thomas-St. John Agriculture and Food Fair 

The St. Thomas-St. John Agriculture and Food Fair announces that this year’s activity will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 17-18, 2007 at the grounds of the Reichhold Center for the Arts. The theme for this year’s fair is ‘Make Agriculture Your Haven in 2007’. Applications for participation can be collected at the following locations:

The VI Department of Agriculture offices at Coral Bay, St. John; Estate Lower Love, St. Croix, and Estate Dorothea on St. Thomas. Applications may also be obtained at the VI Department of Agriculture’s abattoir in Estate Nadir, and the UVI Cooperative Extension Service on St. Thomas. Commissioner of the V.I. Department of Agriculture (VIDOA), Louis E. Petersen, Jr. Ph.D., announces a change this week in the slaughtering schedule at the St. Thomas abattoir. Livestock will be accepted on Wednesday, October 10th at the Estate Nadir facility for slaughtering on Thursday, October 11th. Normal operational hours will resume next week. The management of the VIDOA apologizes for any inconveniences which this change may cause.
