Governor deJongh proclaims Taxi Week in the United States Virgin Islands Governor John P. deJongh, Jr. has proclaimed October 21-27 as "Taxi Week," in the United States Virgin Islands. The taxi industry is the Virgin Islands’ largest small business industry. The Taxi industry is vital to the territory, contributing to its economic prosperity, providing employment for residents and promoting the islands as a tourist destination. This very important industry also plays a pivotal role in providing transportation to visitors and residents of the entire Virgin Islands community. |
