Turnbull resigns post at PFA; Agency hands off project management to Public Works beginning October 1st

Public Finance Authority Senior Project Coordinator Brian Turnbull has resigned his position effective today. Turnbull held the position for the past eight years during which time he oversaw PFA driven projects and provided oversight on other projects being developed by agencies of the V.I. Government.

PFA Director Julito Francis said Turnbull performed his duties in a professional and courteous manner and "was a joy to work with the past five and a half months since I was named to the leadership position at the Public Finance Authority." Francis thanked Turnbull for his services and the professionalism he displayed.

Francis said that the PFA is presently in the process of transitioning project management functions to the Public Works Department and during that period all efforts will be made to ensure a seamless transition. Effective October 1, 2007, PWD Commissioner Darryl Smalls will assume the responsibility of updating the public on all capital projects in the two island districts. "We are working to minimize any disruption of the projects as we hand off the project management responsibilities to PWD."

The Public Finance Authority, chaired by Gov. John P. deJongh Jr., will continue to receive and process payment requests for all capital projects funded from bond proceeds as is the current practice.
