Governor offers condolences to family of deceased V.I. Police Officer

Gov. John P. deJongh Jr. on Wednesday extended condolences to the parents and family of Police Officer Dwayne O. Issac, the victim of an apparent suicide.

"At a time of such loss, words are futile to ease the deep suffering and sorrow a family feels at the death of a loved one," deJongh said. "I want to convey to the family and friends of Officer Issac, the deepest sympathies of my family and a community grateful for the challenge he accepted when he sought out to become a police officer."

deJongh said from all accounts, Officer Issac was an affable and ambitious young man who had a desire to serve his community. "He was respected by his fellow officers and he demonstrated that same level of respect to both friend and stranger alike."

"Cecile joins me in offering our prayers for Officer Issac’s family, his fellow officers in the law enforcement community and those who today are saddened by his tragic and unexpected death," deJongh said.
