Governor off-island this week Gov. John P. deJongh, Jr. departed the territory Sunday for Washington, D.C. where he and First Lady Cecile are escorting their eldest son, J.P. deJongh, to American University. The Chief Executive’s son will attend college there this fall. During deJongh’s absence, Lt. Governor Gregory R. Francis will serve as Acting Governor. The First Family returns to the Virgin Islands during the weekend of August 25-26, 2007. |
