Governor deJongh proclaims "National Emergency Medical Services for Children Day" in the Territory

Governor John P. deJongh, Jr. has proclaimed “Emergency Medical Services for Children Day,” in the United States Virgin Islands. Emergency Medical Services for children supports community-based public service, whose presence is vital to children in need.

The needs of children are different than the needs of adults in medical emergencies. These services for children promote high-level care given by EMS providers with pediatric emergency skills who are unceasingly prepared to respond and restore children who access the system to optimum level of health.

Emergency Medical Services for children assist in the implementation of training for use of advanced technical equipment and services in preparation to save the life of a child.

It is proper and timely to bring recognition to the value and accomplishments of such dedicated men and women by designating emergency Medical Services for Children Day.
