Governor deJongh proclaims "Public Service Recognition Week" in the United States Virgin Islands Governor John P. deJongh, Jr. has proclaimed May 21-25, as Public Service Recognition Week in the United States Virgin Islands. The Virgin Islands will be celebrating its 18th annual observation of this event, joining the fifty states and the insular areas of the United States in recognizing outstanding public employees for their performance and efforts to improve public service. The people of the Virgin Islands through innumerable contributions in advancing the science, processes, and art of public administration, have improved public service at all levels of government in all functional and program fields. Particular recognition is due to reinforce the value and worth of public service employees who, through a potency of mind, a corpus of theory and knowledge, a social ideal, a set of ethical standards, and formal organization promotes excellence. It is fitting and proper that we honor and commend those employees who have been selected by their respective departments and agencies as “Employee of the Year,” for their diligence, outstanding work and contributions to their departments and agencies. |
