Road condition update

As a result of the heavy rains of the last two days, the Public Works Department has responded to the areas prone to localized flooding in an aggressive manner. PWD Commissioner Designate Darryl Smalls Monday identified those areas on St. Thomas including: Raphune Hill, Mandela Circle, Donoe Gut, Magens Bay Road, St. Peter Mountain Road, Four Corner’s intersection, Estate Hope, Fortuna Road, Tabor and Harmony, Hidden Valley, Smith Bay Road, Fort Mylner, Frenctown Gas Station Gut, Denmark Hill, Coki Point Road and the roadway in Nadir.

On St. John, the areas prone to localized flooding include: Route 10 Cruz Bay to the intersection of Route 107 Coral Bay; Route 105, Route 102, Route 20 and Route 10.

Smalls said that based on preliminary reports, there are no major problems to report on St. Croix at the present time. "As the rains continue, Public Works crews will be on the alert to respond to any need that may arise," Smalls said Monday afternoon.
