Virgin Islanders offer support to tornado victims

Acting Governor Gregory Francis today sent a note of support to the Governors of Missouri, Alabama and Georgia after severe weather ripped through their states late last week killing 20 people, among them, eight students at the Enterprise High School in Enterprise, Alabama. Acting Governor Francis expressed condolences on behalf of his family, Governor John de Jongh, Jr. and the people of the Virgin Islands.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of last week’s tornadoes and their families," said Acting Governor Francis. "Virgin Islanders are all too familiar with the devastation that can come from natural disasters. We empathize with you and wish your states speedy recoveries," he said.

Acting Governor Francis asked all Virgin Islanders to say a special prayer for the tornado victims.
