Governor attends NGA Winter Meeting Gov. John deJongh departed the territory today to attend the Winter Meeting of the National Governor’s Association in Washington, D.C. Following the four-day meeting, deJongh will meet with Congressional leaders and officials at the White House. During the Governor’s absence and in accordance with provisions of the Revised Organic Act of 1954, Lt. Governor Gregory Francis will serve as Acting Governor of the Virgin Islands. The Governor returns to the territory during the first week of March. |
