Flags to remain at half-staff through January 25

Government House today issued a reminder that both the American and Virgin Islands flags must continue to remain at half-staff until January 25th, 30 days after the death of former U.S. President Gerald Ford.

Government House spokesman Jean Greaux said today that the national period of mourning proclaimed by President George Bush requires a 30 day period of flags flown at half-staff on public and private buildings throughout the United States, its territories and possessions.

Consistent with the presidential proclamation, Governor John deJongh, Jr. reminded all to continue to honor the late 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford.
