Mental Health Awareness

In recognition of Mental Health Month, the First Lady launched a month-long radio campaign to raise awareness on the reality of mental illness, including tips on recognizing signs and symptoms, as well as encouraging professional, medical help when needed.

   
Women's History

Each March, the Virgin Islands honors women who have positively impacted the Territory’s social, economic, cultural and political environment. 

 

   
Holiday Programs for Children

Throughout the year, the First Lady helps to plan and organize a variety of holiday programs and celebrations for children all across the Territory.

   
Healthy VI 

The Healthy VI initiative that seeks to raise awareness on overall health and wellness for all residents of the Territory. 

   
Camp Shriver

An initiative of the First Lady, the Virgin Islands "Camp Shriver" chapters were developed in March 2007, at the Maryland home of camp founder and disabilities activist, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

   
CHADD

Children and Adults with Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) was founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with AD/HD. 

 

   
Special Olympics

Special Olympics is an international organization created to help people with intellectual disabilities develop self-confidence, social skills and a sense of personal accomplishment through sports training and competition. 

   
Tennis in
the Parks & Schools

Tennis In the Parks and Schools is a partnership between National Recreation and Park Association and the United States Tennis Association that provides resources and support to communities who are committed to growing and improving tennis programs, infrastructure and advocacy efforts in their local communities.
