Governor John P. deJongh, Jr.

John Percy deJongh, Jr. was inaugurated as the seventh Governor of the United States Virgin Islands on January 1, 2007. He was born on November 13, 1957 and was raised on St. Thomas where he attended St. Peter and Paul School. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in Detroit and received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from Antioch College in 1981. 

    
Lt. Governor Gregory R. Francis

Gregory R. Francis was inaugurated as the Lt. Governor of the United States Virgin Islands on January 1, 2007. He was born on August 30, 1951, on the island of St. Croix to parents Olric Francis and Hyacinth Wilson-Francis. He has six siblings, Olrick, Herbert (deceased), Kathleen, Howard, Milton, Kenneth, and Arthur (deceased), several of whom reside on St. Croix. 

   

First Lady Cecile deJongh

Cecile deJongh became First Lady of the Virgin Islands on January 1, 2007 when her husband, Governor John deJongh, was inaugurated as the Territory’s 7th elected governor. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, where her father was stationed as a physician with the U.S. Army. Both her parents were born and raised in the Virgin Islands and they returned home in 1962 with four children in tow. 

     
The Governor's Cabinet

The Governor's Cabinet is comprised of the heads of the 26 departments within the Executive Branch. These directors, are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Each commissioner or director is responsible for the oversight of his or her agency. An equally important responsibility of all Cabinet members is advising the Governor on subjects related to their respective agencies.
